Wine 101: Continuing The Fun

An engaging evening for anyone who enjoys wine—whether you attended our Wine 101 series or simply wish to sip, explore, and learn. We will build upon the fundamentals with new wines, deeper insights, and relaxed conversation. Expect a fun, approachable atmosphere that encourages curiosity while keeping the focus on enjoyment. These events will focus on concepts from Wine 101 in a format approachable to anyone. This edition offers a different, more casual setting designed for guests who wish to explore the world of wine at their own pace. Enjoy tasting on your schedule, with thoughtfully curated hors d’oeuvres stations that complement each selection. Educational elements will be concise, approachable, and woven naturally into the experience, allowing you to learn as much—or as little—as you wish while savoring the evening.

Calli Johnson, Wine Steward of Bit of Bailey's and The Island Store, will be leading this educational tasting. This will be a more casual setting than the previous Wine 101, 3-part class, with participants encouraged to mingle as they taste.

About Calli: Calli Johnson is a fourth-generation islander, community leader, and wine professional who combines a background in hospitality, retail, and education with a love for wine culture. She has curated wine programs and tastings for both locals and visitors, emphasizing how wine can bring people together at the table. Calli brings energy, expertise, and a knack for making wine approachable for learners at every level, along with her sense of humor. Her goal is to give participants practical tools and memorable experiences they can take into their everyday wine enjoyment.

Light tastings will be provided to support learning, but we recommend enjoying dinner beforehand or making plans for dinner afterward for a more comfortable and complete evening experience.
