The plan is to meet in the paddock behind Little Gransden Village Hall (SG19 3DP) between 2:00 and 2:30 and the run will start after the drivers' briefing at 2:45. I have devised a suggested route of about 40 miles that should take around 75 minutes. However, there are plenty of opportunities to bail out and return to the hall sooner if you can't wait for your tea and cake. As well as the Gransdens, Abbotsley and Waresley, you might end up visiting Graveley, Eltisley, Offord D'Arcy, Longstowe, Croxton, Toseland and elsewhere, but not necessarily in that order. Once we are back at the village hall, there will be tea/coffee and cake/biscuits. I have also procured, at vast expense, a magnificent silver trophy for presentation to the owner of the most desirable vehicle. Participants on the social run will vote to decide the winner.
The social run is part of the Bluebell villages' celebrations of the 80th anniversary of VE Day. If you feel like it, you can decorate your vehicle (or yourself).
Little Gransden Village Hall is not charging us for using their facilities, but we will be having a cash collection in aid of the hall.
Having offered cake, I have to admit that donations of cake will be much appreciated! Also, I could do with a couple of volunteers to assist with parking please.
Finally, please let me know if you are planning to join the run, donate a cake or help with parking so I can plan accordingly.
