Kent’s 50s Festival

Dust off your dancing shoes and fire up those vintage engines! The much-loved Kent 50’s Festival is back for its 4th year bringing a high-octane celebration of 1950s rock’n’roll culture to Sandwich in Kent from Friday 8thto Sunday 10th August presented by Killertone Records.

First launched in 2022 the festival has become an annual staple of the Kent diary bringing the region the very best of 50’s music to the medieval town of Sandwich each summer. Each year sees a fresh new line-up of top-class acts suitable for the whole family to enjoy.

This year’s main ticketed event will be held at St Mary’s Arts Centre on Friday 8th & Saturday 9th August with a jam-packed programme of the very best 50s music. This year’s line-up includes; The Deltas Si CranstounJackson Sloan Lew Lewis and his All Stars The Backbeat Jivers Sonny West Phil Haley and his Comments The Accidents Miss Holiday and the Swingtones. There will also be sets from top DJs; Strops Hop Bop-A-Lenas Andy Roadoiler and Big Bob – Scotty Dog spinning all the classic 50s hits.

The exclusive Eddie Cochran Lost Locker Exhibition will be on display throughout the festival. Including photographs from Eddie Cochran’s personal collection the exhibition offers a rare look at personal memorabilia from this legendary rocker. Fans old and new will get a unique glimpse into the life of a legend whose music defined a generation.

The weekend concludes on Sunday 10th August when the festival moves down to the Quay for its classic car show accompanied by food drink and free live entertainment.

The festival will also include a dance competition vintage market hot food stalls and licenced bars.

Get VIP parking when you bring your classic car to the event! You will enjoy steward monitored parking along the Quay so you can relax just a couple of minutes away from all the festival activities!
