Maritime Lecture Series: Mystery of the Marquette & Bessemer

Join local author and historian Tom Adams for a captivating look into one of Lake Erie’s greatest mysteries—the disappearance of the Marquette & Bessemer No. 2. Set in 1909, a year marked by labor unrest and industrial transition, this talk explores life on the lake, the final voyage of the No. 2, and the fate of the crew aboard the vessel that vanished without a trace. Tom will share historical context, eyewitness accounts, and modern theories that attempt to locate the ship’s final resting place.
