The Home Chow Cooking Class…new class loading! 6 spots available at R500 per person.

We always looked forward to the ritual and traditon of weekend cooking but Sundays were always extra special. Brunch and lunch were made with great care and added doses of love. It was so good that an afternoon nap was compulsory.

I am so enjoying hosting the cooking classes and have now introduced new classes to cover the basics of home cooking and this class will bring back memories of Durban and those kitchens that churned out delicious soul food. We referred to these meals as the ‘Chow’ and we somehow took these meals and the preparation for granted.

This class covers some of the Sunday favourites and on our menu is Durban style Chops Chutney made with rib and loin chops, White Fry Chicken cooked with garlic, fresh herbs and chilli, and Natal Prawn Curry in a tomato base. We will be making a batch of roti and for dessert, a self saucing chocolate pudding served with cream or ice cream.

The cause focuses on simple easy to grasp techniques and an easy approach to meal preparation.

The class includes ingredients and recipes with notes, hints and tips. We look forward to hosting you.
