Artyli Gallery is delighted to present Re-Wilding, the second exhibition of 2026, curated by Karen Cullinan and opening on Saturday 21 March at 2pm.
Borrowed from ecological practice, re-wilding describes the restoration of land through the removal of dominance, allowing systems to regenerate according to their own intelligence. In this exhibition, the idea expands beyond ecology to explore emotional, cultural, spiritual and political terrains that have been shaped, managed and constrained.
The exhibition brings together a diverse group of artists whose works explore material, gesture and imagination as forms of renewal and transformation
Featured artists are: Cassian Robbertze, Sylvester Mqeku, Carey Carter, Keonah Nyembe, Paula Ante, John Moore and Phumzile Buthelezi
The opening will be addressed by Dr Ashraf Jamal.
