You are invited to join Ashley Bozman for a free demonstration of
making watercolors from plants & minerals.
When: Saturday, January 17th, 2026 from 12:30-3:00pm
Where: 210 Commercial Ave, Sandstone (210 Gallery & Art Center)
All who attend will be invited to contribute to a community watercolor piece that will be submitted in the next gallery opening!
Over the past few months, Ashley has been learning about and refining her skills in the processes of: Creating dye baths, extracting pigment from the dye baths with the laking process, refining rocks and minerals safely, creating watercolor binders, mulling it all together, and finally testing the watercolor product!
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the East Central Regional Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Through these funds, I was able to connect with and learn from Jyotsna Pippal and her www.lostincolours.com online courses, as well as @Wóokiye Wiŋ, a fellow natural watercolor creator and Ojibwe and Dakhota artist/ author/ leader. Thank you all so much for working with me and believing in my budding abilities!
