- **Event Description**: Join the 52 Hike Challenge MN Chapter in hiking 3.5 miles at Banning State Park!About this EventWho: 52 Hike Challengers + Friends/FamilyWhat: January Group HikeWhen: Saturday, January 17 10:00-12:30pmWhere: Banning State Park - Sandstone, MNTrail details & ability level: Approximately 3.5 miles of trail. The trail is rated easy/moderate and will take approximately 2.5hrs to complete. We'll pace ourselves to accommodate others and the varying trail conditions. We honor staying together as a group as much as possible! Being able to hike at/around 2.3mph would be good for joining this hike. We'll be mindful of weather conditions before this hike to ensure everyone's safety.This includes temperatures at 0 or below, snowstorms, windchill, icy roads/trail conditions, and any elemental conditions as they present themselves. If there is a cancelation necessary, we will try to do so within 24hrs of the day of the hike.What to bring: Weather appropriate layered clothing, sunglasses, a warm hat, gloves/mittens, winter hiking boots, sunscreen, a daypack or similar with water, with personal needs, the Hiking 10 essentials, and a positive attitude! As it is wintertime in Minnesota - Recommend to bring snow traction aka: yaktrax/crampons for your boots if they're needed. Due to a larger group setting, no dogs or pets unless they are working/service animals.Admission & Parking: Parking and admission is $7 with a State Park Daily Pass OR your Annual Minnesota State Park pass.Meet and Park at: The picnic/parking loop. It's best to use Google Maps if you can.
