Sandringham Childbirth Education: Labour, Birth & Baby - Sat 31 May, 2025

Monash Health offers a comprehensive one-day childbirth education session for first time parents birthing at Sandringham hospital.

The program is conducted face to face at the hospital, over one Saturday. This session will be facilitated by a midwife educator,offering the opportunity for asking questions and discussions.

T he program aims to cover topics such as:

• What is labour
• When to call the hospital
• Things the birthing woman and their support person can assist them with in labour - at home and in the hospital
• Informed Consent and refusal
• Medical options for pain relief in hospital
• Medical intervention and care
• Newborns' communication and adaption after birth
• Initiating breastfeeding
• Becoming a new parent
• Safety at home

We recommend you look as soon as possible and select and pay for a program that commences when you are around 28-32 weeks pregnant. Please complete the booking using the birthing woman's name. You and your partner are encouraged to attend. Cost $150.00. One ticket is for two people.

The session runs from 8.30am -4pm and will be held at Sandringham Hospital.

Tea & coffee is provided. You will need to bring your own lunch. A microwave is available for use.
