About Sam “The Economist”
Samual Wolkenhaur is THE Idaho Department of Labor Economist for North Idaho. With degrees in economics and mathematics from Eastern Washington University, Sam provides data-driven insights on workforce trends, housing impacts, and the evolving job market. Known for his clear, engaging presentations, he’s a frequent speaker at public forums and a trusted voice on Idaho’s economy. Outside of work, he’s a history buff and self-proclaimed analog thinker who prefers books over social media.
