Ted’s parents bought the AVA Ranch, just a stone's throw from downtown Portal, in 1952. Before the Troller family lived and farmed there, the ranch had changed hands a number of times. Join us in hearing Ted describe the AVA's fascinating history, including his thorough analysis of the ranch as filming location for the Western movie, Branded. You will be enthralled with Ted's stories of the past and his vivid collection of slide-show photographs. Mr. Troller and Paul Hirt recently published Ted's memoirs, "It's a Good Place to Live": Ted Troller, the AVA Ranch, and the Community of Portal, Arizona, 1950s-Present.
