People inspire me. I create oil paintings with steel wool and brushes; the textural element represents the layers of common human experiences and the use of brushes represents the complexity of our unique individualism. My artistic focus is to create oil paintings that portray the beauty of a diverse identity by embracing our common denominators. Imagery gathered from my travels in Asia, Europe and the US., interact with one another, transcending time and location. I try to engage the viewer by creating paintings that build bridges of unity and empathy. I use my paintings to provide a deep sense of connection that enables all individuals to feel we are part of something greater than ourselves; We are One Heart, standing on Common Ground. The commonality of my paintings reminds us we are stronger together if we chose to strengthen our bonds through Love.
In 1998 I was invited to become part of the S.F. MOMA Artist Gallery artists and had been with them until their close on October 2021. Private collectors throughout France, Germany, England, and Tibet have purchased selected paintings. In 2007 Atea Europe’s largest IT company with approximately 7,500 employees in over 7 countries, purchased “The Place To Be” from the SF MOMA Artist Gallery. It is presented at all corporate meetings with their International partners and prospects, including Apple, Mac, and IBM. Atea has acquired three additional paintings which remain at their headquarters in Oslo, but “The Place To Be” was replicated and hung in each office throughout the seven countries. It is a symbol of Cultural unity which embodies the spirit of their company and my paintings.
I believe all people are capable of unlimited happiness and can feel the joy that comes from giving compassion without attachment. To identify and become One with something or someone other than ourselves embodies the generosity and strength of humanity and our connection to the universe
