This exhibition features image selections from my photo adventures in the Golden Gate and Marin Headlands in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I enjoy spending time in the wild and rugged natural environments of the northern California Pacific coast. Ever since my arrival in San Francisco from Washington, D.C., I have been fascinated by the accessible natural beauty that surrounds me. I return to these areas to capture images of the landscapes, water and weather along with the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.
As a photographer, I strive to photograph the same areas through shifting seasons, moods, and perspectives. A foggy morning, a clear sunset, a new lens, or simply a different mindset can reveal something entirely unexpected. In this way, nature becomes both subject and collaborator.
Photographing in the headlands and along the cliffs and coastline means braving rogue microclimates, ankle-twisting terrain, and hauling gear like a sherpa. Sometimes it feels like a slow-motion survival documentary with better lighting.
I strive to interpret these scenes through a creative lens to produce images that resonate emotionally. Through my artwork, I invite you to reconnect with the wondrous nature that is all around us. I hope these images move you to see the world just a bit differently.
