The BMC workshop introduced the nine essential building blocks of a business model, encouraging participants to think strategically about how a business creates, delivers, and captures value. Through hands-on activities and collaborative discussions, teams mapped out their business ideas or existing models using the BMC framework.

Objective: Understand the 9 building blocks of the Business Model Canvas and apply them to real companies and participants' ideas.
Key Activities:
Introduction to the BMC framework
What is it - and what it is not. It's not a check list)
Deep dive into each component (e.g., Key Partners, Value Proposition)
Case studies: BMC breakdown of Silicon Valley startups (e.g., Airbnb, Uber)
Any korean companies that come to mind as comparison
Drafting each team’s initial business model canvas
Send me a list of the startups - this would allow me to tailor the session to their needs.

Format: Lecture + Group Work
5 min intro, 45 min lecture, 40 min workshop, Debrief: have a few teams present their BMC / Q&A
Outcome: First draft of each team’s BMC
Info: Topic: How to define customer segments and craft a strong value proposition
Objective: Identify real customer problems and create solutions that matter
Key Activities:
Customer Segmentation: Jobs, Gains, and Pains
Value Proposition Canvas (VPC) introduction and application
B2B/B2C examples Silicon Valley firms
I walk them through and example, then share a product for the participants to discuss what that product is and its value proposition
Using local insights gathered during visits
Format: Interactive Workshop + Canvas Work
Question: have they done any customer discovery interviews or validated problems already. This leads to two options:
1) They work on their projects
2) I provide them with products and they have to reverse engineer the VPC.
5 min intro, 45 - 60 min lecture, 35 min workshop, Debrief: have teams present their VPC / Q&A
Outcome: Refined Customer Segments and Value Proposition
Info: Topic: Understanding business model archetypes, and revenue models, and creating a virtuous circle.
Objective: Understanding the logic behind value creation and value capture, and monetizing customers
note: this combines the user and revenue tiles in the BMC
Key Activities:
Value creation and value capture - creating value and capturing value (turning it into revenue)
Business model archetypes - and why this will set the direction of the company
Revenue stream models (subscription, licensing, freemium, ads)
Logic of the business (why customers return)
Real-world case analysis / examples (discussion)
Discuss projects
teams briefly present their current thoughts on revenue streams/archetypes. Group feedback.
Format: Team-based Strategy Mapping + Presentations
Outcome: Clear understanding how to position yourself and how to capture value.
Info: Topic: Consolidating the full business model and preparing to pitch
Objective: Present a complete, validated, and actionable business model
Key Activities:
Recap of Sessions 1-3
What is the BMC, VPC and the logic of the business (archetypes, strategy, revenue, )
Final integration of all 9 BMC elements
Pitch coaching and presentation preparation
What is the expectation here? e.g., storytelling, key messages, conciseness, visual aids, Q&A prep
Team presentations with expert feedback (led by Harald Nuhn (I might bring a friend to help put))
Evaluation of real-world potential and International Market Potential fit (<<< we need to discuss this part)
Format: Team Pitches + Mentoring + Group Feedback
Outcome: Finalized BMC + Investor-style Pitch Deck
