Chef Tu David Phu is a celebrated Vietnamese-American chef, storyteller, and advocate whose work bridges culinary innovation with cultural preservation and social impact. His cookbook, The Memory of Taste, is more than a collection of recipes—it’s a heartfelt tribute to heritage, resourcefulness, and the wisdom passed down from his refugee parents from Phú Quốc. Rooted in principles of zero-waste cooking, Chef Tu brings tradition forward through inventive California-Vietnamese dishes like tuna summer rolls and 7-Up nước chấm.
