𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲:
Let's get specific with what we mean when we talk about Follow voice. This 4 week series will focus on giving Follows four very specific skills they can use to prep their own movement and communicate to their leader exactly how they want to embellish their leader's ideas. Each one of these techniques will be accompanied with a specific dance move you can take to the dance floor that night, and the techniques themselves will translate into almost any kind of partner dance. Expect to broaden your communication skills as a follow and your listening skills as a lead. See you all on the dance floor.

Please do your best to arrive on time to class if you plan to attend. 𝐴𝑛𝑦𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑎𝑟𝑟𝑖𝑣𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑓𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 20 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑢𝑡𝑒 𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑘 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑏𝑒 𝑝𝑜𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑎𝑠𝑘𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑖𝑡 𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑎𝑣𝑜𝑖𝑑 𝑑𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑏𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑙𝑜𝑤 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑙𝑎𝑠𝑠

Tony (He/Him) has spent a decade in the fusion scene traveling across the country (mainly in California and now in Seattle) to hear, record, and DJ moments of musical magic (MoMM). He tends to play variety and sometimes hits themes, but in every set you can almost always expect moments for solidarity, familiarity, collaborative chaos (trolling), and throwdowns.

Shastine (she/her) loves dancing, and she has a deep appreciation of what music makes her want to move her body. In order to keep the dancers interested and engaged, she tries to build her sets with a variety of layers, rhythms, and styles, all the while asking the fundamental question: “How danceable does this song feel?” She’s excited to share her passion for fun dancey songs with you.

Jeannie Lin is a shapeshifter dancer who is able to effortlessly adapt, blend, articulate and draw from a myriad of different dance forms and experiences. Her early training included gymnastics, ballet, and modern dance, while her later years included formal study in over 30 styles of partner dance at the Ballroom Dance Teacher's Academy where she graduated with high honors. Now she happily resides in the worlds of fusion and argentine tango, where she weaves in her other dance styles together seamlessly, integrating concepts and creating hybrid movements with grace and fluidity. Recognized for her nuanced and effective teaching style, she's been invited to teach at fusion festivals and workshops across the US and internationally in Europe, Canada, and the UK. Now she lives in Los Angeles where she co-founded LA's first micro-fusion venue, Tiny Dancers, and is currently co-organizing for Angel City Fusion.

Hi, I'm Ren. I'm straight out of San Diego and a proper San Francisco transplant. I have a dance education mixing elements of West Coast Swing, Tango, Blues, Kizomba, Hip Hop and Zouk. I imagine Fusion dance as its own emerging dance culture and movement practice as opposed to it simply being a mix of other dances. Expect to learn Fusion dance as a means of integrating new and old movement ideas into your own movement philosophies. Teaching and dancing have become major staples in my life and the Fusion community has become a home for me. I'm excited to share and learn with y'all.
