Want to look like you wrote the song you're dancing to? Wanna feel the music flowing through your body so that "hitting the drop" feels obvious? Understanding musical structure – not only with your mind, but feeling it in your body – will unlock new levels of musicality you've never felt before.
Please do your best to arrive on time to class if you plan to attend. 𝐴𝑛𝑦𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑎𝑟𝑟𝑖𝑣𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑓𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 20 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑢𝑡𝑒 𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑘 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑏𝑒 𝑝𝑜𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑎𝑠𝑘𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑖𝑡 𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑎𝑣𝑜𝑖𝑑 𝑑𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑏𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑙𝑜𝑤 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑙𝑎𝑠𝑠

Music has been a large part of Shelley’s life, but it was dance that reinvigorated this love. She is a regular blues, lindy and balboa dancer. She also enjoys tango, micro and kizomba. Her first love will always be Fusion as it is the dance that allows for the culmination of the rich traditions of so many dance forms. She performs for private dance events in the Bay Area and has performed at jazz and indie festivals in Malaysia and Singapore. As a DJ, she pays homage to blues-fusion, can be sentimental at times, and wants to make your bootie jive to fun rhythms and good songwriting that you might catch yourself singing to.

Kenya Soul, hailing from the Bay Area, draws inspiration from a rich tapestry of hip hop, Lindy Hop, blues, and occasionally anime. His teachings are rooted in improvisation, connection, and musicality, breathing life into stories through movement. He seeks to build bridges between divergent communities through shared artistic language, which is how he found his home in Fusion. His Black-experience-centered philosophy sits at the heart of all of his and Pomona's lessons. Together, they create a clear, play-focused, and light-hearted teaching environment where students are often surprised with their own creative prowess.
