About Museum of the African Diaspora:
The Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD) is a contemporary art museum located in San Francisco, with a mission to place artists and art of the African Diaspora at the center of today’s global cultural conversation. As one of the few U.S. museums focused exclusively on contemporary Black art, MoAD has been a cultural anchor and beacon for 20 years. MoAD is advancing its mission through exhibitions, learning & family engagement, artist & curator professional development, public programs, and community engagement. Additionally, MoAD actively preserves Black cultural heritage while reimagining the structures of representation, equity, and access in the arts. In essence, MoAD fits into the solution by acting as both a cultural institution and a platform for advocacy, elevating contemporary Black art while challenging the structures of today’s arts ecosystem.
About Booker T. Washington Community Service Center:
The Booker T. Washington Community Service Center is the Bay Area’s oldest Black-led, Black- serving nonprofit. A beacon of Black joy and self-determination for the last 106 years, they have nurtured over five generations of Black San Franciscans in the Fillmore/Western Addition. They stand embedded as an anchor institution, fostering intergenerational bonds and working in solidarity with allied communities to reform and reimagine a more inclusive San Francisco. The Center prioritizes serving the Black community, but welcomes all from ages 0-99 who walk through our door. Booker T. is one of the few urban spaces where anyone in the community can access comprehensive services, from a hot meal to childcare and academic support to senior services.
