Bassist Giulio Xavier Cetto has been the secret sauce on Bay Area bandstands for the past decade, supplying propulsion in a wide array of improvisational settings. In this power trio he’s joined by drummer Thomas Pridgen, a savvy and unrelenting sparkplug known for his work in rock bands The Mars Volta, Trash Talk and Fever 333, and keyboardist Michael Louis Aaberg, who’s recorded with jazz and soul masters such as trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire, vocalist Lalah Hathaway and bassist Derrick Hodge. Special guest vocalist Pher (aka Oakland-reared Christopher Turner), who made standout contributions on Esperanza Spalding’s double Grammy-winning album Radio Music Society and Jon Batiste’s Hollywood Africans, brings star power and an abundance of soul.
