What do you get when you cross junk journal ephemera and Universal Design for Learning?
The answer: Fun and functional learning opportunities. Attend this workshop to create teachables that come out of envelopes, open, swing, pop up, crinkle, sparkle and move. In addition to reaching students with varied learning styles and abilities, these scrappy teachables can stimulate ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) to support focus and relaxation as they learn. Plus, creating to enhance your curriculum with fun sensory materials may also bring you moments of peace. At the end of the workshop, take home a book of your examples to keep you inspired throughout the semester.

About Maia Scott
Maia Scott is an interdisciplinary artist and arts educator who teaches accessible theater, movement and arts classes at City College of San Francisco and Lighthouse for the Blind & Visually Impaired. She is also a certified labyrinth facilitator offering meditative arts practice labyrinth workshops. Maia's labyrinth artwork has appeared at the Palo Alto Art Center, Root Division, and at national and local conferences.
