All residents of the nine Bay Area counties are invited to spend an evening at the museum with general admission on us! From 12 noon–8 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month, Bay Area residents can enjoy SFMOMA’s galleries filled with lively and inspiring art — for free. Please note that surcharged exhibitions, such as "Ruth Asawa: Retrospective" require separate paid tickets.
On June 5, we invite you to explore the legacy of Group f.64, a collective of 11 Bay Area photographers who, in 1932, organized around a simple aim: to make photographs that rivaled paintings. At 6 p.m. in Wattis Theater, hear more about the group and its influence on subsequent generations during a panel discussion with Curator and Head of Photography Erin O’Toole and Around Group f.64 exhibition artists Janet Delaney, Zig Jackson, and Ray Potes.
And while you are downtown, check out Downtown First Thursday, a monthly neighborhood street party over on Second Street.
