SPECIAL BONUS CLASS - "CONNECTION NIGHT" - Special timing too: 7pm to 9:30pm
- 6/10/25 Connection Night: Learn and use a new practice to connect deeply with new or established dates, partners and friends. This evening is an opportunity to use the Connected Conversation Process to connect with other participants. You might meet a potential date or new friend, or you might use this process to connect more deeply with a partner, date or friend who's attending with you. This process supports us in building connection with each other through a balance of kindness and authenticity. We'll give you a primer on the Connected Conversation Process, if you're not already familiar with it, then ask you to partner up to practice. Past participants at Communication Dojo told us that they would look forward to this experience every time we did it, because they were so often surprised by the depth of connection they would experience, even with a complete stranger, in just a 30 minute conversation. Come solo or bring a friend, colleague, partner or date and experience the magic of the Connected Conversation Process.
UPCOMING TOPICS
- 6/17/25 Needs into Action - OK, even if I know what my needs are, and what the other person's needs are, now what? What if our needs seem to be in conflict? How does awareness of our needs help us resolve conflict and take effective action where it's needed?
- 6/24/25 Self-Connection - 90% of effective communication is about self-connection. If you're not connected to what's going on in you, it's hard to connect with anyone else to a satisfying degree. We'll focus on the Ladder Questions, a powerful tool for self-connection.
PRICING
Early bird $25; General Admission, Sliding scale $30 - $40. This means we'd love to receive $40 for the sustainability of Communication Dojo and The Center SF, but we make a sliding scale available as we know this $40 is not affordable for everyone.
If these prices are an obstacle please contact us about discounts.
*Doors open at 6:45pm, and close at 7:20pm.*
LEADERSHIP TEAM
Newt Bailey, Lead Trainer
Newt's passion is to help people connect, to experience greater intimacy, and to find the potential for mutually satisfying change that lies within conflict. Newt started attending NVC programs in 2005 and immediately knew he wanted to understand and share with others the essential core of NVC. He believes strongly in teaching the principles of NVC in a way that frees students from specialized language, and allows facility with connected communication to grow in small, quickly assimilated steps. Since 2007 Newt has been facilitating NVC groups, leading workshops and retreats, and developing his unique approach in public and organizational settings. He has taught NVC, NVC mediation and NVC coaching across the USA and in Europe.
Leeza Pesenson, Assistant Trainer
Leeza is passionate about understanding how our minds work and how we connect with each other. She studied cognitive psychology and works as a User Experience Researcher by day. Leeza fell madly in love with NVC after attending Newt’s drop-in classes at The Center SF in 2018 and has been a dedicated practitioner ever since. She has participated in immersion programs in NVC, Mediation, Conflict Coaching, and Inner Compass work with Oren Sofer, Roxy Manning, John Kinyon, and Arnina Kashtan. Since 2020, Leeza has assisted Newt and organized her own NVC practice and empathy groups. She is overjoyed to be sharing NVC on a larger scale as part of the Communication Dojo team.
