🥾 Trail Ready Camp 4 Days of Skills, Confidence & Trail Time

Hosted at REI San Diego + Mission Trails Regional Park


Give your child the tools and confidence to explore the outdoors — not just follow, but lead.


Trail Ready Camp is a 4-day adventure designed for kids ages 7 - and Up to learn the essentials of hiking, navigation, first aid, and teamwork — all through hands-on learning and real trail experiences.


Camp Breakdown:


🧭 Day 1 – Gear Up at REI HQ

Campers dive into the basics: how to pack a backpack, use hiking gear, stay safe on trail, and handle simple first-aid scenarios.


🥾 Day 2 – Hike + First Aid Field Practice

We hit Climber’s Loop for a guided hike, putting new skills into action — with built-in stops to practice trail safety and navigation awareness.


🗺️ Day 3 – Navigation + Trail Games at REI HQ

Map reading, compass skills, route planning, and group challenges. Campers gain confidence in their ability to explore on their own.


🚩 Day 4 – Independent Hike at Visitor’s Loop

It all comes together. Campers navigate the trail in small groups with support nearby, applying what they’ve learned and celebrating how far they’ve come.
