OPENMIC! This Monday night. Sign-in at 6PM, we go off at 6:30PM. ALSO... Justin Hansen is with us on the keys! Bring your sheet music... and remember, 3-song sets. Please no iPhones or lyric sheets.
This week's Feature Artist is Warren DeLange presenting the work of his late great father, Eddie DeLange.
During the Swing Era, Eddie DeLange was one of the top-working lyricists, collaborating with the most celebrated music writers of the time including Duke Ellington, Jimmy Van Heusen and Frank Loesser. You don't want to miss this one.
Last Monday was a thriller. We had a fabulous show lineup. Seth Ensminger kicked off our night with a few originals followed by singer songwriter Bonnie Nicholls on the keys.
Kerry Powell and Elle serenaded on acoustic followed by the award-winning and 5-time San Diego Music Award nominee Sande Lollis. Her originals are pure poetry!
Richard Varrasso energized the audience with stories from his rock and roll past and he offered up a few fabulous musical memories to punctuate those stories. Many thanks, Richard!
And weren't we all surprised as John Frazer, affectionately known as Harmonica John, lit up the room with a combination of harmonica and acoustic. No wonder he's so loved around San Diego. Bob Pruitt chimed in with some terrific americana on acoustic. He was accompanied by bassist, Roger Daschle.
Ciara Cormier was with us once again too! Unfortunately, she had to fly the coop due to a time constraint, but we'll see her very soon on a Monday night. Ciara's originals are cleverly written, just great stories when you give her a good listen.
I look forward to seeing you all this Monday night! Come ready to take advantage of Hennessey's Happy Hour menu. PLEASE, show our host some love! They take great care of us.
See you then!
