Join us for the next installment of our collaborative seminar series with Center for Microbiome Innovation exploring the intersection of genomics, cancer biology, and the microbiome. This session will feature two engaging presentations:


🧬 Dr. Michael A. Liss, UC San Diego physician-scientist and urologic oncologist, whose work focuses on integrating microbial genomics, artificial intelligence, and cancer biology to improve diagnostics and treatment strategies.

🔍 Drew Kebbel, Technical Sales Specialist at Complete Genomics, will share a technical overview of their multi-platform sequencing technologies and how they are being applied in oncology and microbiome studies.

Keynote

Dr. Michael A. Liss, MD, PhD - Director of Clinical Trials, Center for Microbiome Innovation, UC San Diego

Bio: Dr. Michael A. Liss works to integrate microbiome science into clinical research, strengthening collaborations between clinicians, researchers, and industry partners. As Director of Clinical Trials at the Center for Microbiome Innovation, he focuses on Oncobiome research, examining how microbes influence cancer risk, progression, and treatment response. His work spans prostate, breast, and colon cancer, including investigating how microbes metabolize medications.


Intro to DNBSEQ and STOmics Spatial Biology

Drew Kebbel - Technical Sales Specialist, Complete Genomics

Bio: Drew Kebbel is a biotechnology expert with over 18 years of experience in NGS, single-cell, and spatial transcriptomics technologies. Prior to joining Complete Genomics as a Technical Sales Specialist, he held commercial roles at 10x Genomics, Illumina, and Veranome Biosystems, specializing in technical sales and customer support. With a background in biomedical engineering and molecular biology, Drew enjoys partnering with researchers to implement innovative genomic solutions in cancer, microbiome, and spatial biology research.
