San Diego Balboa & Shag Workshop Weekend! "YES, AND!!"

Come on down for the first ever (or at least first in a long time!) San Diego Balboa & Collegiate Shag Workshop Weekend, co-hosted by San Diego Bal Lab & Hot Socks Club!

WHAT IS IT? Two two-hour workshops, practices, and a social dance over two days to level up your balboa and shag with instructors JEREMY OTTH & SARAH STEMBRIDGE

SCHEDULE:
Saturday, October 11th - Balboa Day!
5:00-7:00 pm: "Yes, and..." workshop #1
7:00-8:00 pm: open practice
8:00-11:00 pm: open social dance

Sunday, October 12th - Shag Day!
2:00-4:00 pm: Advance Your Shag workshop
4:00-5:00 pm: open practice

PRICING:
$100*: ALL ACCESS PASS (includes both workshops, practices, & social dance)
$60*: SATURDAY ONLY PASS (includes balboa workshop #1, practice, and social dance)
$50*: SINGLE WORKSHOP PASS (includes either balboa OR shag workshop + practice hour on that day)
$15: SOCIAL DANCE (includes Saturday social dance only)

We’ll have a few volunteer spots available to help with set up/tear down/check in for the workshops and social dances - if you’d like to volunteer, please reach out to either Chris or Sarah!

ABOUT THE “YES, AND…” SERIES:
San Diego Bal Lab presents for the first time the "Yes, and..." series! This series includes 3 higher-level balboa workshops, spaced 1-month apart, and taught by different instructors. After the first workshop, the class recap video will be shared with the next pair of instructors who will be asked to build a "yes, and..." lesson on top of it. After the second workshop, both recap videos will be sent to the last pair of instructors who will be asked to do the same. The structure and spacing of the workshops are meant to provide the opportunity and time to learn, practice, and then develop your skills as a balboa dancer.

Do you have to attend all workshops in the series? NO! Each workshop will be standalone and you can drop into any of them. However, the idea is that material from subsequent workshops will enhance the material of previous workshops. So attend all three if you can!

Single workshop pricing is $50 (advanced) or $60 (at the door). But if you attend all three workshops in the "Yes, and..." series, the 3rd one is only $30!

WHAT ABOUT SHAG?!
In conjunction with the first event in the "Yes, and..." balboa series, the Hot Socks Club of San Diego will be hosting an intermediate/advanced collegiate shag workshop on Sunday, October 12th. Attendees should be comfortable enough with collegiate shag to dance a whole song at about 180-200bpm
