Palm Trees Gone Wild workshop with Kristen Guest

Nothing says San Diego like palm trees! Learn to get loose in this mixed media workshop.

In this workshop, you'll learn:

Explore techniques and creative processes to expand your imaginative approach to art, and play with acrylics, drawing materials, and more to create a 12x12 painting of your favorite coffee cup.

We will look at the value of quirky imperfections and go over methods to stay loose and care-free. The instructor will be providing photo references and show students how to abstract from life.

We will do all of this together using vibrant color and loose gestures—seeking the magic that comes when we allow ourself to be free of self judgment and comparison, and being open to happy accidents. Smack-dab in the middle of flow and possibility!

Supply List:

• (1) 12x12 canvas or panel
• fluid acrylic paint in your favorite colors...important to have some be opaque and some be transparent
• glazing medium
• 1-2 Neocolor II water soluble crayons in your favorite colors
• 1-2 Derwent Inktense pencils in your favorite colors
• Marabu art crayon in gray
• a few small and medium sized brushes
• color shaper tool in any size
• palette paper
• quality paper towels or Blue Shop Towels
