Liliana Chenlo is in town! Milonga Recuerdo welcomes her to both teach the pre-milonga class and then DJ for our third Monday of the month milonga! Let's give her a warm welcome! As always, we will have wine and cheese, a great dance floor, and the company of good friends!
The pre-milonga class will begin at 7:30 pm. The floor opens for dancing at 8:45 pm.

"We will train axis, dissociation, and pivot to achieve stable, fluid, and precise turns. We will work on the structure of the molinete, the lead and follow in both roles, and variations to adapt them to different rhythms and embraces. Progressive exercises for all levels, with specific options according to your experience."
"Liliana Chenlo is a renowned professional tango dancer, international Master, and choreographer. Born in Buenos Aires, she began her dance training at the age of eight, developing a refined technique and powerful artistic expression that allows her to masterfully dance both roles—leader and follower. Her ability to switch roles seamlessly—even dancing in heels in both positions—has made her a unique and powerful presence in the global tango scene.
Throughout her career, she has performed across Argentina and on prestigious stages in China, Hong Kong, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Turkey, Germany, France, Canada, and the United States, among others.
In 2008, she founded Open Tango in Buenos Aires, a groundbreaking company that offers tourists and dancers an inclusive learning space where dance roles are not assigned based on gender, promoting freedom and authenticity in tango.
Widely recognized as one of the world’s leading female tango leaders, Liliana made history as the first woman to compete as a leader in the Tango World Championship, reaching the semifinals and paving the way for more queer and same-sex couples to enter the competition."

Milonga Recuerdo is traditionally held on the first and third Mondays of the month, honoring and remembering the germinal song by Osvaldo Pugliese, with Julio de Caro's arrangements, that opened up a line of exploration of tango.
