This year, we are proud to present a live concert with legendary reggae icons, The Wailing Souls, bringing roots, rhythm, and revolutionary spirit to Balboa Park.
Celebrate Marcus Garvey’s call for unity, pride, and self-determination with a night filled with conscious music, cultural tribute, community connection, and liberation energy.
The Wailing Souls are a Jamaican reggae vocal group whose origins date back to the 1960s. The group has undergone several line-up changes over the years with Winston “Pipe” Matthews and Lloyd “Bread” McDonald the only constant members. They have been nominated for Grammy Awards three times.
