Landscape Painting with Chelsea ~ SDRVC Natural Impressions: Art in Nature

Join SDRVC & artist Chelsea at Lake Hodges for Natural Impressions—a plein air painting session connecting creativity and nature on canvas!

About this Event

Join the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy for a special Natural Impressions: Art in Nature event at beautiful Lake Hodges! We'll meet at the Piedras Pintadas Trailhead and take a short, easy walk down the trail to a small peaceful clearing. There, local plein air artist Chelsea Alexander will guide participants in capturing the landscape with acrylic paint on canvas, helping you explore your personal connection to nature through art.

This MEMBERS-only event takes place from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Become a Member

All painting materials are provided, and no prior art experience is needed—just a love of the outdoors and a willingness to get creative!

Please bring:
Water and snacks
A folding chair or blanket
Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses) for comfort

We encourage participants to consider making a or becoming a member to help support the cost of materials and continue bringing talented local artists into our programming.

Come be inspired by nature, connect with community, and leave with your own painted impression of the San Dieguito River Valley!

Coast to Crest Trail is a multi-use trail so please use caution and practice good trail etiquette when hiking, biking, or riding horses. Leave no trace, take nothing but photos. Please be mindful of wildlife critical habitats, stay on designated trails only.
