2025 Spades Tournament Scholarship Fundraiser

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., Omicron Iota Sigma Chapter is putting on a Winner Take All Spades Tournmanent.

Tickets are $120 for a team of two. Doors open at 6pm and we will start on time.

This event is for the 21 and up crowd. No outside alcohol allowed in the venue.

Food and live music are included with every ticket purchase. Wine, beer, mixed drinks, and 50/50 raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the event.

Rules:

1. All teams must consist of 2 players.
2. Each game will go to 350 points, or highest point total in 50 minutes.
3. Joker-Joker-Ace format; remove the deuce of diamonds and the deuce of hearts before the game begins.
4. The highest card is the Big Joker, then the Little Joker, then the Ace of Spades, etc.
5. The highest flipped over determines the first dealer.
6. Dealer must offer the player, to his/her right, the opportunity to cut the cards after they are shuffled and before they are dealt.
7. The non-dealing team always bids first
8. The minimum bid per team is 4 books.
9. "Books made" is not an acceptable term; every hand dealt must be played.
10. Bid on every hand, including the first hand.
11. Once a card is played, it cannot be picked up; "A Card Laid is A Card Played". However, you cannot force a renig.
12. A player cannot lead with a spade until spades have been broken.
13. If a team collects 10 books on the first hand, the game is not over; it continues as per rule #2.
14. In the event of a tie score at the end of 50 minutes, one more hand will be dealt (sudden death) and the team with the most books wins.
15. Sandbags will be totaled (10 bags reduces your score by 100).
16. If a player re-nigs, 3 book penalty for that team.
17. If a team shows up late, meaning after the first hand is dealt, your registration is forfeited.
18. NO POOR SPORTSMANSHIP

FYI...

For those teams who are eliminated early, prepare to bust people up in Dominoes.

For those individuals who are not registered to play, and just want to hang out and watch the event, there will be a $20 spectator fee.
