Community Workshop: U.S. 101 Crossings Improvement Plan

Join us for a community workshop at the San Carlos Library to provide feedback on how to create safe and comfortable conditions for all people travelling near the U.S. 101 freeway.

As part of the 101 Corridor Connect program, the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA), in partnership with the Cities of San Carlos, Redwood City, and Belmont, is developing the U.S. 101 San Mateo County Crossing Improvement Plan. U.S. 101 is the busiest corridor in San Mateo County. However, the freeway itself presents multiple types of barriers for people walking, rolling, biking, and taking transit. This Plan aims to prioritize crossing and corridor improvement needs and identify which projects will most effectively create safe crossings and corridors near U.S. 101.

The TA, City of San Carlos, City of Redwood City, and City of Belmont are studying how to create comfortable conditions for people of all ages and abilities travelling on Industrial Avenue. Staff will present two proposed design options that are being considered and we want to get your feedback on which is the best option to move forward.
