Ruby City & Trinity University KRTU’s partnership continues with a special installment of Music in the Park featuring Austin-based band NORI. Fronted by powerhouse vocalist Akina Adderley, granddaughter of jazz legend Nat Adderley, NORI blends jazz with soulful, genre-bending influences. Their lineup includes Erik Telford on trumpet, Nick Litterski on keys, Aaron Allen on upright bass, and Andy Beaudoin on drums.
Praised by Festival Peak as “a five-person gift from Austin, TX,” NORI’s latest album Walking Foot was named an Editor’s Choice Best Album of 2025 by Jazzwise Magazine and hailed by Paris Move as “an offering of vision, soul, and intellect, likely to be referenced and revered for years to come.”
For this special edition, Ruby City welcomes artist Diego Chavez, who will transform Ruby City’s Plaza with real-time creative-coding projections. His generative visuals will draw inspiration from Ruby City’s current exhibition Sensing Meaning: Abstract Painting and respond to sound, rhythm, and atmosphere, creating an immersive environment where music, movement, and abstract digital imagery converge.
Guests are invited to bring folding chairs or picnic blankets and enjoy an evening of live music and light-based art under the stars. Complimentary light bites and drinks will be provided.
This event is free and open to all. Registration is not required.
