SAAACAM Green Book Civil Right Bus Tour

The Green Book Civil Right Bus Tour brings to life the powerful legacy of the historic Negro Motorist Green Book, authored by Victor Green. This guided and immersive tour explores San Antonio’s historically Black neighborhoods, including Denver Heights and Dignowity Hill. This tour highlights the businesses, homes, and community spaces that offered refuge, dignity, and resistance during the Jim Crow era. Grounded in archival research and community histories, the tour honors the entrepreneurial spirit of Black Americans and the impact of their businesses in San Antonio. As both an educational and cultural experience, the Green Book Civil Rights Bus Tour connects the past to the present—free parking at the Brackenridge Parking Garage.
