Welcome to the Cal Poly Swim Club 7 Summits Challenge!
Ready to take on one of the tallest mountains in the world to raise money for Cal Poly's largest Sports Club.? This event is open to all swimmers who are up to the challenge. Music, snacks, a swim cap, and good times are provided!
7 Summit Challenge Peaks:
Kosciuszko 2,228m (2,436.57yrds) = 44 laps long course
Vinson 4,892m (5,3489.9 yrds) = 98 laps long course
Elbrus 5,642m (6,170.16 yrds) = 113 laps long course
Kilimanjaro 5,895m (6,446.85 yrds) = 118 laps long course
Denali 6,194m (6,773.84 yards) = 124 laps long course
Aconcagua 6,961m (7,612.64 yrds) = 139 laps long course
Everest 8,848m (9,676.29 yrds) = 177 laps long course
We also have some shorter events for kids, less experienced swimmers, or anyone who just wants a shorter swim:
Morro Rock 176m (192.4 yrds) = 4 laps long course
Chumash Peak 383m (418 yrds) = 8 laps long course
Bishop Peak 475m (519 yrds) =10 laps long course
Our fundraiser is inspired by Cal Poly's former Club Sports advisor Sarah Hawkins who climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2022 for her organization Kidney Donor Athletes, a non-profit that educates and promotes living kidney donation.
