Host: Dr. Dennis Colón PT, DPT - Alliance Regen & Rehab

Info: A former physical therapist for the Minnesota Twins (MLB), Dr. Dennis Colón will explore the evolution of interval throwing programs, examining their origins, current best practices, and future innovations. Designed for athletes, coaches, and healthcare professionals, this session delves into the scientific foundations of interval throwing, its application in injury prevention and performance optimization, and how advancements in technology and research are shaping the next generation of these programs. Attendees will gain insights into the successes and limitations of traditional methods, the role of individualized programming, and the integration of data-driven tools to enhance outcomes for athletes at all levels.

Foot and Ankle Rehab: A review of best practice for the artistic athlete
Host: Dr. Sam Curbelo PT, DPT, SCS, MS - Rehab 2 Perform

Info: A residency trained sports physical therapist, Dr. Sam Curbelo will focus on foot and ankle rehab for high level athletes with specifics thrown in regarding artistic athletes such as dancers. With the frequency of foot and ankle injuries being so common, understanding mechanism of injury, needs of rehab, strength and conditioning principles, return to sport testing and demands of the sport are extremely important. This lecture will be a comprehensive review of these topics.

Return to sport testing in ACL rehabilitation
Host: Dr. Victor Lugo Merle PT, DPT - Temple University

Info: A residency trained sports physical therapist, Dr. Victor Lugo will focus on returning to sport after an ACL injury which is complex and requires a multidisciplinary approach to optimize outcomes and minimize reinjury risk. This presentation will cover objective assessment tools, including knee peak force strength testing and force plate data, to evaluate neuromuscular control and readiness. We will explore criteria-based progression models that integrate strength, biomechanics, and psychological factors, along with case studies to refine clinical decision-making. Additionally, the session will highlight interprofessional communication strategies to ensure seamless collaboration between physical therapists, strength coaches, and sports medicine professionals for a successful RTS transition.

Eating Disorders in Athletes
Host: Kerrin Meseck MS, RD, CSSD, LDN - Duke University

Info: From Cornell University to Boston University and now Duke University, Kerrin Meseck will discuss the risk factors and health consequences of eating disorders in athletes, including sport-specific pressures, weight-class requirements, and energy availability concerns. The session will explore the spectrum of disordered eating behaviors and how sport environments may normalize harmful nutritional practices. Emphasizing an interdisciplinary approach, it will highlight the roles of sports dietitians, physicians, mental health professionals, coaches, and strength staff. Building Better Athletes: How to Assess, Bucket & Train Youth Athletes
Host: Jordan Collins M.Ed., CSCS - DBC Fitness

Info: This presentation will cover the performance assessment process used when onboarding athletes, utilizing force plates (Force Decks) and the 1080 Sprint system to evaluate neuromuscular function, sprint mechanics, and force production. Based on assessment results, athletes are categorized into specific training groups ("buckets") to address their strengths and weaknesses. The session will also explore how these data-driven insights guide individualized training strategies to enhance performance and reduce injury risk. Attendees will gain practical knowledge on implementing assessment-driven programming for athletic development.
