sbQA MAY TEA
Come join South Bay Queer & Asian for a delightful afternoon at the Billy DeFrank LGBTQ+ Community Center for our May Tea event! Enjoy a cup of tea, mingle with fellow community members, and enjoy some tasty treats. This in-person event is a great opportunity to relax, socialize, and celebrate the month of May together. Don't miss out on this chance to connect with others in a welcoming and inclusive environment. We can't wait to see you there! Feel ree to bring a dessert to share if you like (not required).
It has been a year since we relaunched sbQA after being on hiatus during the COVID years.
It has been a WONDERFUL Year! We made lots of NEW FRIENDS and reconnected with OLD FRIENDS .
Our monthly Coffee Chats, Hikes, and Lunches have been growing in size every month.
Our Annual Events: Summer Picnic, Camping Trip, Thanksgiving, and Lunar New Year also had record participation.
Thanksgiving and Lunar New Year had over 110 participants.
When we restarted sbQA, we had an Afternoon Tea that brought out a lot of our long time friends.
So, the 2025-2026 board has decided to make the MAY TEA a permanent part of our Annual Events.

He famously married his husband Vinh in a small town in India, generating national press coverage and turning what could have been negative sensationalism into a positive message of "love is love."
