Sania Gharana Sarangi Recital and Tabla Solo

The Sarangi Maestro, Ustad Kamal Sabri is an internationally renowned musician and composer, representing the seventh generation of distinguished Sarangi exponents from the 400-year-old Moradabad Gharana. The son of the legendary Sarangi virtuoso Ustad Sabri Khan Sahab, Ustad Kamal Sabri has been redefining the art of Sarangi-playing for many years, all while preserving the rich legacy of his gharana.

Ustad Kamal Sabri will be accompanied on the tabla by Tanmay Bichu. We are delighted to announce that Tanmay will also present a short solo performance on Tabla.

Tanmay began learning the tabla at an early age under the tutelage of Pt. Manohar Pimpalaskar. He continued his advanced training under Pt. Ramdas Palsule and now under Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri. He is one of the most talented tabla players of his generation and an active performer at various Indian classical and world music concerts in India and the US.
