World Labyrinth Day

Every year on the first Saturday in May thousands of people around the globe participate in World Labyrinth Day as a moving meditation for world peace and celebration of the labyrinth experience.

Many “Walk as One at 1” local time to create a rolling wave of peaceful energy passing from one time zone to the next. Grace Cathedral is proud to host World Labyrinth Day this year. Join us from 11 AM to 2 PM to walk our indoor and outdoor Labyrinths accompanied by live music.

Music will be provided by Destiny Muhammad (harp), Mirabai (guitar and harmonium), Sidney Chen (music boxes), and Terry Fox’s The Labyrinth Scored for the Purrs of 11 Different Cats (with kind permission of Marita Loosen-Fox).

Also enjoy educational sessions by the Rev. Dr. Lauren Artress, founder of Veriditas, the world leader in training labyrinth facilitators, and founder of the labyrinths at Grace Cathedral; and Dr. Richard Elsner, author of Walking the Church Year: Personal Devotions for a Labyrinth Prayer Practice.

Food will be available for purchase, courtesy of Le Beau Market and Back to Back Pizza.
World Labyrinth Day is an annual international event founded by The Labyrinth Society in 2009.
