Cantemus
The Golden Gate Men’s Chorus joins with Cantus Vocal Ensemble to present “Cantemus,” with special guests Ragazzi Boys Chorus on Sunday, May 18th.
“Cantemus” will be a unique and exciting choral musical experience—in two concert programs over one weekend, the Golden Gate Men’s Chorus is proud to present the acclaimed Cantus Vocal Ensemble direct from Minneapolis, performing masterworks from Renaissance masters to contemporary works. Choose one or both!
Saturday includes works by Andres Lemba, Cecilia McDowall, John August Pamintuan, Emil Fredberg, René Eespere, Alan Menken, Richard Rodgers, Stacey Gibbs, Francis Poulenc, Abbie Betinis, Consuelito Velázquez, Steven Sametz, and Mohammed Fairouz.
Sunday includes works by Palestrina, John August Pamintuan, Alan Menken, Robert Sund, Emil Fredberg, Richard Rodgers, Paul McCartney, Harold Arlen, and the world premiere of a new work by Saunder Choi; and a 500th birthday tribute to Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina with a performance of the Gloria from his Missa Papae Marcelli.
