About the event

Advanced Group Singing & Movement Techniques
Take your improvised songs to the next level with the legend behind the keys of “Whose Line is It Anyway?”, Laura Hall.

About this Event

Take your improvised songs to the next level in this workshop focused on advanced musical and movement skills.

In this three-hour workshop, Rick and Laura Hall will help you unlock techniques that will make your songs richer and more musically satisfying, such as call and response, counter melodies and harmonies. This workshop will also explore using improvised group movement and choreography to make songs more visually engaging. You’ll get the opportunity to try on these various approaches and apply them to duets, trios and group songs.

This is an ideal workshop for any musical improviser looking to explore more dynamic and compelling musical and movement choices in their improv.

Who Is Eligible: This workshop is for advanced musical improvisers–those who have completed a musical improv program and have had experience performing musical improv.

Maximum Capacity: In order to ensure the best possible experience for those taking part, we are capping this workshop at a maximum of 15 total students.

Location: This workshop will be held at the Endgames Improv training center at 2989 Mission St, San Francisco.

Date & Time: This workshop will take place on Saturday, July 12 from 3:00 - 6:00PM.

About the Teachers:

Laura Hall (Musical Director, “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”, The Second City Chicago) and her husband, Rick Hall (Actor, “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, The Second City Chicago) teach musical improv workshops for all levels. Laura and Rick have taught musical improv all over the world, at comedy clubs, theaters, festivals and universities. As a teaching team they provide two unique perspectives; that of an experienced Musical Director, and a seasoned actor/improviser.

Laura and Rick create a lively, supportive environment for you to grow, explore, move out of your comfort zone, and most importantly, have fun!
