From 4:00 to 7:30pm, enjoy After Hours Sunset Exploration. This is a great time to spot species that are more active in the evening.
From 8:00 to 9:30pm, join our UV Light Nocturnal Insect Survey. Survey moths and other insects drawn to our UV light stations, and explore the trails with handheld lights.
Plus, while you're out exploring, don't forget to join our 2025 City Nature Challenge BioBlitz at Mitchell Lake Audubon Center project on iNaturalist. Once you're in the project, any observations you upload during the event that are located at Mitchell Lake will automatically be added—no extra steps needed! Every 25 observations = 1 entry into our raffle drawing.
The prize package includes a 2025 Mitchell Lake Audubon Center Fiesta medal, a City Nature Challenge Fiesta medal, a nature-themed t-shirt, a Migratory Bird Festival sticker, and a Mitchell Lake Audubon Center patch.
