Jack Lawrence, a master of flatpicking guitar, has been a cornerstone of bluegrass since the 1970s. Best known as Doc Watson’s longtime musical partner, Lawrence blends tradition with a distinctive style shaped by influences like Clarence White and Django Reinhardt. From his early days with the Bluegrass Alliance to acclaimed solo albums and collaborations with legends such as Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, and the Del McCoury Band, Jack carries forward the heart of Appalachian roots music with grace, soul, and unmatched technical skill.
