This seasonal workshop offers a calm, hands-on way to welcome spring through simple bulb planting and natural materials — and, this Valentine’s, a chance to slow down and create something that continues to grow long after the day itself.
In this session, you’ll learn how to create a spring bulb display inside a tall hurricane vase, using careful placement of bulbs and layered natural materials to create a balanced, visually pleasing arrangement as it grows. You’ll be guided step by step, working at a relaxed pace in a supportive environment.
Alongside the practical making, we’ll explore:
Which spring bulbs work well for indoor displays
How to layer materials for stability, drainage, and visual interest
How to care for your planted vase as it develops and flowers
How to adapt this technique for different vessels and seasons
This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some gardening experience alike. It’s a lovely way to mark Valentine’s — whether you come with a friend, as a quiet treat to yourself, or as a thoughtful alternative to traditional gifts.
You’ll leave with a finished planted vase and the confidence to recreate the technique at home.
This workshop sits alongside our creative and wellbeing sessions, offering a grounding, seasonal practice rooted in making and connection to nature.
