Withnail And I

Join us in Staithes for one of the greatest British films ever made, 1987's Withnail and I. It's on many people's list of favourite ever movie, and introduced us to Paul McGann and Richard E. Grant, who deliver brilliant performances, along with Richard Griffiths as the awful Uncle Monty. It seems surreal at times, but is based on the early life of director Bruce Robinson while he was trying to make it as an actor, and the man he shared digs with, Vivian MacKerrell, a 'usually unemployed actor'.
