Cello Pilgrim - A Performance by Kenneth Wilson, Bach’s Cello Solos and Poetry

All 42 English cathedrals. 2,000 miles. With a cello. On a bike.

Cumbrian cellist and poet Kenneth Wilson, 66, is known for his mad projects. But perhaps this one – Pilgrim Cello – is the maddest of all.

Kenneth is cycling, with his cello, 2,000 miles around all 42 of the English Anglican Cathedrals. We have persuaded him to include Cornwall’s ex-cathedral, St Germans Priory.

With his cello carried on the front of a specially adapted bike, it’s not just a bike ride, it's a pilgrimage in the ancient tradition, and a concert tour bringing a powerful reflection to each sacred space. Kenneth will be giving a performance of a specially-written Meditation, which consists of a series of reflective poems interwoven with movements from the Bach Suites for Solo Cello.

Performance will last approx 1h30 with an interval.
