The Climate Adaptation Research Lab is calling on your green thumbs and gardening expertise once again!
This past spring, thanks to the incredible efforts of our volunteers, we successfully planted hundreds of native species in the Maxwell Watershed. Your contributions made a real difference - and now we’re building on that success with another round of planting!
🌱 Join Us for a Fall Planting Weekend!
We’ll be hosting a volunteer native planting session in the Maxwell Creek Watershed on:
Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18
10:00am - 3:00pm
No experience is needed - just a love for nature and a willingness to dig in.
What to Expect:
✅ Learn about native plant species and their role in ecosystem restoration.
✅ Help plant trees, shrubs, and flowers that support a thriving forest and wetland ecosystem.
✅ Connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts and conservationists.
✅ Enjoy a rewarding day outdoors while making a lasting impact.
Bring your gloves, weather-appropriate clothes (we will be planting rain or shine!), water, a shovel (if you have one), and a friend!
We’ll provide the plants, guidance, appreciation, and lunch!
Ways to Get Involved Before Planting Day:
🔹 Donate seeds, cuttings, or potted native plants (please contact us for details)
🔹 Spread the word to friends, neighbours, and plant lovers who might want to help!
