Giving Thanks for the guidance in your heart that has lead you to this moment ~ Giving thanks & acknowledgement to the First Peoples whose Indigenous territory this will be taking place on ~ Breathing deep in this moment into a place of honor & gratitude for the Elders, Matriarchs, Chiefs, Knowledge Keepers, Land Defenders,Truth Speakers, the Crafters & Makers, the Helpers & Givers, for the Survivors of genocide & for the Youth who are the future who make up their Nation of Indigenous Peoples whose Home-Territory this event will be taking place on ~ Honoring the place where the mountains meet the ocean, the rains that keep this coast lush, alive & wildly diverse & for the many, many creatures big & small who call the Indigenous Territory you reside on Home ~

{ • From The Indigenous Facilitator • }
… is the desire to offer guidance and facilitation in relation Ancestral connection ~ Sourced from my Indigenous upbringing, i understand Ancestry to be interwoven into every aspect this human experience, it is something i have in abundance. As i understand when we have lots of something, the natural inclination is to share it ~ In my Indigenous world view, connection to Ancestry is your foundation and the world needs more rooted people ~ At the heart of it is an inspired curiosity of how land shapes and informs cultures, how lineage patterns take form and the many forms that reclamation takes in all the walks of life ~ i’m here to guide the process and ask the questions that arrive us more clear and grounded in this bigger journey of Ancestral Connection ~

《 What to expect 》
To be in a space with like minded / like hearted folks on a journey of understanding what it means to have Ancestors ~ You will be guided & facilitated into greater understanding of this topic as we explore the many layers of meaning involved in the concept of Ancestry Connection ~

《 Lay of the land & flow of th event 》
🌊 We will start out slow & reflective with a Guided Drum Journey ~
🌊 You will be asked to bring your Ancestor Altar (see info graphic provided in event banner) ~ The heart of this event will involve sharing about this in a guided & supported way,
in pairs or small groups ~
🌊 We’ll interweave some integrative movement, grounding & honoring of our nervous systems ~
🌊 We’ll break for dinner, after which we’ll end our time together receiving some guidance from my Indigenous based understanding of Ancestry Connection & how this can be applied to all peoples & lineages ~

🌿 NATURE ITEMS: bring some form of nature to contribute to our collective alter for our day together ~
🌿 COZY THINGS / optional: you may want to bring your own cushion, slippers, small blanket any soft things to make our time together cozy (there will be various seating options) ~

《 The Origin Story 》
It has been an ongoing experience of offering workshops on Indigenous Awareness Building & in this i would always include & begin with the importance of honoring Ancestry ~ Folks weren’t sure how to do this so i came up with some ways to support this journey ~ So many people found this part of the whole experience of the workshop the most impactful & went on to delve deeper into this aspect of their human experience ~ i would absolutely light up to hear what their journey has been, always inspired to ask the big curious soul questions i have in relation to this ~ I'm becoming more aware of the desire to honor this big curiosity & build upon this being a focussed deep dive component of what i offer ~ I’ve found that in life, when folks are more rooted in their Ancestral Connection, they’re so much more grounded & empowered for all the things that get built on that foundation ~ I’ve found that the practicing allies that were in some degree of relationship with their Ancestors made the best allies ~ So why not start here ~ This is where the inspiration for offering ongoing mentorship came to be ~

《 About The Facilitator 》
Pulxaneeks (Pul-ha-neeks) is from the Eagle Clan of the Xenaksiala / Xai’sla First Nation and is a result of the village that raised her.
~
She is the Founder / Facilitator / Visionary & Consultant of “Heart to Heart - Indigenous Relationship Consultation” where she calls upon her lived Indigenous experience to offer insight & understanding ~
~
Her path of being a Group Facilitator, Community-Oriented Organizer & Event Producer was sparked 25 years ago largely through the nature based cultural youth program called "Rediscovery" & has been applied in many heart'filled ways throughout her life ~
~
Her background includes cultural based youth outreach with Indigenous youth who are considered ‘high risk’ in a wide variety of settings & environments, including nature-based, urban-based & school-based ~ She has also done some Elder Care & Child Care ~
~
Pulxaneeks was raised on her homeland by the her Indigenous village she was born to ~ Rooted in her lived-Indigenous-experience, you're invited to see the results of her healing & integration process of having grown up living the impacts of colonization ~ The result of this healing & lifelong integration is shared in all that she offers ~ Pulxaneeks offers Ancestry Connection Mentorship, supporting the understanding of what it means to have a meaningful relationship with Ancestry, unpacking this concept one layer at a time ~ This is inspired by what she’s witnessed over the years: the folks who honor their Ancestors, make the best practicing allys ~

Pulxaneeks is a living, loving result of the coastal Indigenous village that raised her & all that survived in the lineage she was born to ~ She holds her hands up & honours the Elders, Auntys, Mentors & huge family whose love she is a living result of & the Ancestors whose strength & resilience is flowing through her veins ~
