💃🏼 What is Ecstatic Dance🕺🏼
Ecstatic Dance is a global movement—a sacred, freeform dance journey where rhythm and expression merge. Guided by a DJ’s carefully woven soundscape, dancers embark on a two-hour voyage through music and movement, unlocking deep somatic awareness. It’s an uninhibited space to connect with body, spirit, and sound, where every beat invites freedom, presence, and transformation.
✨About the Dj✨
Lindsay Hester aka DJ LoO HoO started her DJ journey in the Salt Lake City EDM underground scene and Ecstatic Dance community in the summer of 2020. As an Open Format DJ, she has the ability to mix a wide variety of genres, but her favorite are Funk Bass/Glitch-Hop, Electro Funk House, Tribal Trap, Global Bass, Dubstep, Midtempo, Melodic Downtempo Bass, and Progressive House. She loves taking dancers through a journey that releases emotions and heals through movement. For this set, she will be exploring the softer side of downtempo and trance that invites us all to step into our soft and sensual side of the masculine and feminine energies.
Since her start in 2020, LoO HoO has played at SKY, Urban Lounge, The Krishna Temple, The Clubhouse, Boomerang's, Shades Brewing, The Exchange, Plumhouse, Jaguar Occult silent discos, many private parties, high school dances, and EDM weddings. She has opened for big name artists such as Jessica Audifred, Manic Focus, Sultan + Shepard, ill.Gates, Defunk, and Beat Kitty. She has also performed at several local festivals including Paradigm, Electric Pow Wow, Hidden Oasis, Revival, Omunitymoons, Incandescence, Camp KnowName, ILLUMINATE, Evolution, and the SLC WHITE PARTY.
LoO HoO Productions founded and directed L.O.T.U.S. "Ladies of the Underground Series" for three years, empowering female DJs, flow artists, dancers, painters, and vendors in the local scene. She was also the Co-Founder and Director of "Kidz Kreation Day" for two years, inspiring parents and children to cultivate their talents and healing through connection in the alternative arts. She has recently started giving DJ lessons and is excited for her new journey as a mentor for aspiring DJs.
