Word on the Lake Writers' Festival

Word on the Lake Writers Festival is a major literary event bringing together writers, readers, songwriters, editors and publishers in an exciting and stimulating three day festival.
Sessions include skill development workshops, open forums and blue pencil sessions with author based on questions and answers in a relaxed and intimate setting.

The Blue Pencil Café is a great opportunity to have a writing professional go over your work with you.
After attending workshops, forums and presentations we have amazing events and entertainment for your enjoyment. Our Friday evening Festival kick off event, Café Lit, features readings by authors and music by our presenter songwriter as well as delicious goodies and refreshments.
Saturday night is the gala banquet, writing contest awards ceremony and entertainment.
Sunday morning we are excited to include a special presentation by renowned author and freelance writer John Vaillant.

Word on the Lake is held at the Prestige Harbourfront Resort in beautiful Salmon Arm, located on the banks of a nature estuary with unobstructed views of Shuswap Lake and Bastion Mountain.
